How Tungnath Adds Value to the Classic Char Dham Yatra

The traditional Char Dham Yatra covers four holy temples: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. By adding Tungnath — the world’s highest shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva — this journey becomes even more spiritually rewarding, especially for Shiva devotees.

Tungnath is an integral part of the Panch Kedar circuit. It naturally complements the Char Dham route. Many pilgrims who visit Kedarnath choose to extend their trip to Tungnath and Chandrashila for quiet meditation spots, fewer crowds, and uninterrupted mountain views.

This extended route is perfect for travellers who want more than a rushed pilgrimage — those seeking a slower, more immersive spiritual experience amidst the Himalayas.
